Description of Valeo Guideo
The Guideo is a camera module that is fitted on the inside of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror which scans the road ahead of the vehicle. Guideo is designed to detect solid and broken lines and is wired into the vehicles speed pulse (Vehicles may vary and require a CanBus if no speed pulse) and indicator circuit. A remote control is supplied with the unit to set the functions and can be individually disabled if required.
Guideo can be fitted to all passenger cars and light commercial vehicles which are 12v and is ideal for high mileage and fleet business drivers.
The Guideo's 4 features detect the following:
1. If the vehicle strays across solid or broken lines without use of the indicators and will produce a voice alert "mind the left/right hand lane".
2. If the vehicle strays very close to a white line, after 5 seconds will produce a voice alert "you are too close to the left/right hand lane".
3. If at a standstill behind another driver i.e. traffic lights, and the vehicle moves away but you don't after 3 seconds the Guideo will produce a "beep" alert for you to move on.
4. Built into the Guideo is a camera module (which is constantly recording whilst activated) which has a motion sensor that detects sudden changes in vehicle speed. At the point where their is a change of speed the camera will activate and record from 14 seconds previous for a duration of 20 seconds capturing the build up, event itself and the aftermath in the event of an possible accident. With this function installed the unit can be removed from the vehicle at any time by the driver and the video/videos saved in the unit can be downloaded to a PC via a USB cable which is provided along with a CD ROM with software.
